The characters of Matchmaking, Israel’s runaway hit rom-com several years ago, are back once again. As Moti and Nechama plan their wedding, navigating a host of potential booby traps within the coming “mixed marriage” between their Ashkenazi and Mizrahi families, this delightful sequel focuses on Moti’s friend Baruch, the longtime, loyal assistant to Malki the matchmaker. Baruch missed his opportunity to marry many years before, and is well beyond ready to find his bride. Malki is of little help, having just about written off her right-hand as a hopeless case. All that changes when Baruch falls head over heels for Malki’s daughter, recently returned from her life in America. What follows is a romantic, funny tale of a heart’s rekindling…and the inevitability of b’shert.
