UNBROKEN

USA, 2023/Documentary, 103 minutes/English, German w/subtitles/Written by Beth Lane and Aaron Soffin/Directed by Beth Lane

On May 20, 1946, the 7 Weber siblings – 6 girls and 1 boy – made headlines when they arrived in the United States on the S.S. Marine Flasher, on visas made available primarily for orphaned children.  The world was captivated, not only by the Weber children’s harrowing story of survival in Nazi Germany, but also by how all seven somehow managed to survive their hellish ordeal together. That is, until they were split up by the United States foster system. It would be 40 years before the Weber siblings would reunite, and piece together memories of their incredible journey in the process.   Documenting this amazing story of resilience and sacrifice is Beth Lane, the daughter of the youngest Weber sibling, who brings her family together to tell their story from the very beginning.
