Forty-six years married and the parents of two grown daughters, Tova and Meir live a comfortable life, with Meir currently on sabbatical from his academic professorship, and Tova running a boutique shop. Their stable, stale life is unexpectedly rocked by the arrival in their apartment building of a new tenant, Itzik (Lior Ashkenazi, Footnote, Walk on Water), who has taken over the penthouse and soon opens his doors to all of his neighbors for karaoke parties. Mysterious, charismatic, and unlike anyone Tova and Meir have ever known, Itzik soon disrupts the shalom bayit (“peace in the home”) of the couple and, for that matter, of the entire community.
Nominated for 14 Ophirs (Israeli Academy Awards); Winner, Best Actor (Sasson Gabay) and Best Actress (Rita Shukrun).
