Synopsis: In lush Technicolor, the 1966 classic Cast a Giant Shadow dramatizes the emotionally-charged and danger-fraught months leading up to the recognition of the State of Israel sixty years ago. Loosely chronicling the military and romantic exploits of Colonel David "Mickey" Marcus, a Jewish-American D-Day veteran and soldier of great repute who is invited to reorganize the wildly outnumbered, underground Haganah, the story is one of passion and conviction, loyalty and recognition of one's best self. Kirk Douglas heads an all-star cast; Elmer Bernstein provides a stirring score.
